American Standard Air Filters and Furnace Filters

In a Fall 2017 and 2018 Summer survey of over 21,000 central air conditioning systems owners who purchased their units between 2007 and 2018, American Standard Central Air Conditioning Systems’ Owner Satisfaction rating was Excellent/Top Tier according to a national product testing and research magazine. American Standard is a recognized and trusted brand that has been around for several decades. If you need air filters or furnace filters for your American Standard unit, then you’ve come to the right place.

At Filter King, we offer many services to American Standard customers. First, we offer fast delivery of all types and sizes of filters, but we also provide free filter replacement reminders. Give us a call today, let us know what American Standard unit you have, and we will send new filters to you quickly and safely.

Why Do Filters Need To Be Changed?

How often you change your filters depends on your lifestyle, your health and the health of other members of your household, what type of unit you have and what your budget is.

There are a lot of things that affect indoor air quality. The first one is indoor cooking. Anytime you use combustibles in your home, including candles and incense, the smoke accumulates over time. If you use hair sprays or other aerosols, then those can collect in the air and lower its quality. Even dry paint can release harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which is why you should always ask about low-VOC or natural paints when planning a home improvement project. Common allergens include smoke and pets. If you have more than one pet in the home, then you will need to change your filter more frequently. Even if you smoke outside, it can still be tracked indoors on your clothes, and lower the air quality in your home.

How Often Should I Change My American Standard Filters?

Based on the aforementioned considerations you will want to speak to your American Standard representative about which filter works best for you and your home. But here are some general guidelines to help you:

If you are an individual living alone without any pets, then you can change your filter every three months. You can also choose a flat panel fiberglass filter, which is far less expensive because it blocks fewer allergens. This will also allow for maximum airflow, which will improve the energy efficiency in your home.

If you have pets in your home, then you want to consider changing your filters every 30 to 60 days, depending on how much they shed.

If you or a member of your family have allergies, or you have more than one free pet, then you’ll want to change your filters every 30 days.

For rental properties and vacation homes that aren’t occupied every day of the year, you can generally go six months to a year without changing the filter however because these units tend to not be monitored as closely they can have other issues that go on notice. If you want to protect your investment property, then you should have your American Standard unit serviced every 6 months.
